1730. ------. [INTERNATIONAL HYDROGENATION PATENTS CO., LTD.] [Hydrogen and Carbon Monoxide.] French Patent 845,361, Aug. 25, 1939. Chem. Abs., Vol. 35, 1941, p. 1194.

Lower hydrocarbons, such as CH4 and C2H6 are converted into H2 and CO according to 3CH4+CO2+2H2O=4CO+8H2 with alternating blowing and production periods. During the blowing period a carbonaceous material is burned in air by heating 980° -1,200° , and during the production period the catalytic transformation of a gaseous hydrocarbon mixture, water gas and CO2 occurs at 1,200° -980° . Describes apparatus.
