1683. ------. [INTERNATIONAL HYDROCARBON SYNTHESIS CO.] [Hydrocarbons From Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen by Catalysis.] Netherlands Patent 53,262. Oct. 15, 1942. Chem. Abs., vol. 41, 1947, pp. 3942-3943.

Large volume of gases that have reacted is cooled and recirculated with fresh gas mixture to repress heat development. It may be 100 times the fresh gas. A small fraction of the reacted gas is strongly cooled to obtain reaction products. Thus 700 m.3 per hr. at 20 atm. was introduced and 70,000 m.3 recirculated. Temperature was 320° at the entrance and 330° at the outlet. 96 kg. solid, liquid, and gaseous products were obtained: 17 kg. CH4 and ethane, 20 kg. ethene and C3-C4 alkenes, 42 kg. gasoline b. 200° , 10 kg. middle oil, 1 kg. solid paraffin, 6 kg. ethanol.
