1662. ------. [INTERNATIONAL HYDROCARBON SYNTHESIS CO.] [Diatomaceous
Earth as Catalyst Support.] Netherlands Patent 52,657, June 1942. Chem.
Abs., vol. 41, 1947, p. 3934.
To render calcining possible without sintering, the diatomaceous earth is
first treated with acids b. 120º or < and then calcined at 500º-550º
instead of > 600º as was usual for the synthesis of hydrocarbons from CO and
H2.
