            Hydrocarbon oils obtained by the pressure hydrogenation or extraction of coal or by synthesis from CO and H2 are converted into high-grade fuels suitable for aviation gasoline by hydrogenation cracking or reforming at temperatures of 400º-500º and pressures of 15-100 atm. in the presence of catalysts consisting of the oxides or sulfides of metals of groups 6 and 8 such as Ni and W sulfides at a throughput of about 1 1. per 1. of catalyst per hr.
