            Reaction of C oxides with H₂ or gases rich in H₂, such as CH₄, or steam, is catalyzed by contact masses that contain Cu, Ag, or Au or their oxides or Zn together with elements of the 8^th periodic group or their compounds.  Mn, Ce, Cr, Mo, W, Ti, Sb, Bi, and Zr or their compounds may be added.  The products are mainly unsaturated hydrocarbons, but some MeOH, may also be formed.
