The compounds consist of H₂O-insoluble urethane containing at least 1 aliphatic or cycloaliphatic part with at least 6 C atoms. Alcohols, obtained by the catalytic hydrogenation of CO or by the conversion of olefins with CO and H₂, are used for producing urethane.
