            In regenerating catalysts that have become coated with C deposition by burning off the coke in the presence of O₂-containing gases without injuring the catalyst by excessive heat, the temperature of the catalysts at the beginning of the regeneration is kept lower and that the gases higher than the ignition temperature of the coke deposit.  Both temperatures are kept only high enough to maintain combustion of the coke without rising to understandable heights.  Specifies various ways for accompanying this.
