PATENTS 1404. ------. [I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE, A. G.] Preventing Gas Diffusion Through Copper Apparatus. British Patent 260,888. June 2, 1926. Chem. Abs., vol. 21. 1927. p. 3405. To prevent diffusion of reducing gases through Cu by reason of the possible reaction of small quantities of oxide present in the Cu, the walls of apparatus are protected from direct contact with reducing gases by a layer of nonreducing gases such as N2 or CO2. Apparatus for use in synthesis of MeOH may be constructed for operation in this manner. |
