I 76,149, OZ 14,448, filed Oct. 30, 1943 (Cl. IV d-12 6) FIAT Reel 170, frames 9,729-9,730: PB 25,614: Meyer Transl. PC-S-IV, Wax Oxidation, vol. 3. chap. 40, 1949, p. 18. All soaps can be prepared by heating soap-forming fatty acids with the Al salts of lower fatty acids such as Al formite or acetate at temperatures > the boiling points of the corresponding acids such as formic or acetic acids. Temperatures of about 140º-250º are suitable. It is advantageous to work under vacuum especially toward the end of the reaction, as the soap forming fatty acids paraffin oxidation products are suitable. |
