Abs., vol. 31, 1937, p. 1045. Interior of apparatus for reactions between CO and H2, for example, for producing MeOH, is furnished with a coating of Zn or Cd or their alloys, produced by diffusion. The coating may be effected by subjecting the metal surface, for example, Fe, Fe alloy, to the action or Zn or Cd vapor, or it may be dipped in or sprayed with the molten metal and then heated to >500º to effect the diffusion. |
