            Liquid hydrocarbons or O-containing derivatives of hydrocarbons from CO and H₂ are produced in presence of catalysts prepared by reducing compounds of metals belonging to the 8^th group of the periodic system in presence of reducing gases at a temperature <500° and subjecting the compounds thus reduced to a thermal treatment at a temperature >500°, preferably >600°, in presence of nonoxidizing gases or in a vacuum to produce an agglutination of the catalysts.
