            In producing olefins from mixtures f H₂ and C oxides, the temperature is controlled by a fluid, which circulates in heat exchanging relation with the catalyst but not in contact with the reaction gases, for example, the temperature control fluid may be passed through bores in MN-Cu shelves on which the catalyst is placed.  Describes apparatus.
