Finely powdered, fluidized Fe catalyst is used at a H₂ pressure of at least 7 atm. and a CO₂ partial pressure of at least 8.8 atm. A red Fe oxide, which has been activated with 0.5-1.0% K₂CO₃, is used as catalyst. The reaction temperature is 343º. The yield of C₄-hydrocarbons amounts to 149-168 cc. per m.³ CO+H₂, and oxygenated products 39-43 cc.
