United States Patent 2,462,861. Mar. 1. 1949: appl. filed Mar. 29, 1947. Serial No. 738,054: 5 claims (Cl. 260-449.6). Chem. Abs., vol. 43. 1949. p. 3994. Describes process for regeneration of powdered Fe catalyst used in the Fischer-Tropsch process. The spent catalyst is heated at 1,000º-1,200º F. in an oxidizing atmosphere until its C content is reduced to 7-9%. During this step the catalyst is maintained in fluidized condition by upward-flowing air. The catalyst is then activated by injecting H2 into the catalyst mass at 1,100º-1,300º F. 1 foreign and 2 United States patents cited. |
