British Patent 688,096. Feb. 25. 1953. Chem. Abs., vol. 47. 1953. p. 7762. Char is completely gasified in a fluidized-bed process with heat-recovery feature. The feed is forced into the bottom of an annular upward-moving bed, where it is preheated by product gas. The hot char overflows into the interior fluidized bed, where it is gasified with O2 and steam. The product gas in passing down through the outer annular bed is cooled to about 1,150º F. and freed of entrained solids. See also British Patent 658,542 (abs. 2760). |
