Red-Iron Oxide Type Fluid Catalyst for Hydrocarbon Synthesis. United States Patent 2,496,343, Feb. 7, 1950; appl. filed June 4, 1946, Serial No. 674,371; 4 claims (Cl. 260-449.6). Chem. Abs., vol. 44, 1950, p. 3702. Fluidizable Fe catalysts are obtained by subjecting Fe oxides to a sintering treatment and grinding. Reduction may be applied before grinding. Red Fe oxide, preferably less than 30 microns, is best. It may be impregnated with activator such as K carbonate before sintering. Suitable sintering temperature is 1,200º-2,700º F., in a nonreducing atmosphere. 8 United States patents cited. GILLILAND, E. R. See abs. 2043. |
