Normally, liquid hydrocarbons are produced by contacting a mixture of CO and steam, in a mol. ratio of CO:steam=1:1 to 2:1, with a catalyst consisting of Fe about 50-100% reduced from the oxide and of Co about 40-80% reduced from the oxides at 100-600 p. s. i. and 500º-600º F.
