Natural gas is subjected to the action of a mixture of CO and steam in presence of a catalyst at 700º-1,300º whereby a synthesis gas is obtained consisting mainly of CO and H₂. This synthesis gas is then contacted with a suitable catalyst at a determined temperature and pressure to obtain a desirable end product.
