Solid, liquid, or gaseous fuels are burned with O₂ or air mixed with O₂. Overheating is prevented by injecting in superheated steam. The mixture of fuel gases and water gas thus produced is led through the ignited column of a generator working with liquid slag so as to form CO+H₂.
