Reactor is submerged in cylinder or transformer oil, which is heated by an electric coil and cooled by H₂O. It is claimed that the reactor is especially suitable for exothermic reactions between CO and H₂ in presence of Raney Ni, hence it may be used for the enrichment of city gas with CH₄.
