Gas rich in CH4 is produced by leading a mixture of H2 and CO or CO2, or both, over metallic Ni-CO+3 H2=CH4+H2O: CO2+4 H2=CH4+2 H2O. The CO and CO2 in various commercial gases may be so treated. |
