Process of producing a gas, composed principally of CH4, by leading a mixture of the oxides of C and H2 in the heat over catalytic metals (Ni or the like), wherein the C oxides and H2 required in the process are obtained in the known manner by heating a mixture of water gas and steam with a reduction of H2O to H2 and oxidation of CO to CO2 and the separation of the latter. |
