Feb. 26. 1934. Chem. Abs., vol. 28. 1934. p. 4747. The catalyst comprise a nonvolatile acidic oxide not combined with a base or an acid salt derived from an acidic oxide. The oxide may be one of P, As, W, Mo, U, Cr, V, Ti, B, Si, or Zr, and the salts may be primary or secondary phosphates, tungstates, or molybdates of Zn, Ca, Mg, Na, K, Cu, Ce, or Th. Mutually combined acid oxides may be used, for example, phosphotungstic, phosphosilic, silicotungstic, or silcomolybdic acid or Cr or V molybdate. See also United States Patent 1,949,825 (abs. 326). Apparatus similar to that of British Patent 406,344 (abs. 581), may be used. |
