British Patent 631,325, Nov. 1, 1949. Chem. Abs., vol. 44, 1950, p. 3701. In the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis of hydrocarbons the exit gases, mainly CO2 and CH4 with some H2 and CO, are reformed to CO and H2 and used again in synthesis. Part of the exit gas reacts with added CH4 and H2O over a Ni catalyst at 1,000° to give CO and H2 some CH4. The remainder is passed over coke at 1,000°-1,400°, forming mostly CO. The re-formed gases are blended and used for hydrocarbon synthesis. DRABKIN, M. L. See abs. 1045, 1046, 1047. |
