British Patent 316,945, Aug. 6, 1928. Chem. Abs., vol. 24, 1930, p. 1866. Gases containing C oxides and H2, produced by treating solid fuels in a producer with air and steam, to which hydrocarbons such as CH4 and C2H2 may be added, are treated at 80º and at about atmospheric pressure with a catalyst formed mainly of the sulfates of Ce and Co. details of the preparation of which are given.
