In making MeOH by oxidizing CH₄ or from CO and H₂ or in other exothermic reactions under pressure, H₂O or other suitable liquid is mixed with the reaction gases and utilized to control the temperature of the reaction by the abstraction of heat for its vaporization. Describes apparatus.
