Method for preparing gaseous mixtures destined to be used for the catalytic synthesis of organic compounds or NH₃ consists in subjecting the mixtures 1^st to a treatment with active C at ordinary temperature and then to a treatment at a temperature above 200º with substances acting catalytically such as the composition “Luata” (containing Fe oxide.)
