Aliphatic naphtha b. 140º-420º F. is changed to aromatics and H₂ by heating in the presence of a catalyst containing Cr₂O₃ at temperatures of 700º-1,250º F. and in the same reaction chamber concurrently reacting the H₂ so formed with a C oxide in presence of a catalyst containing NiO.
