Waxlike hydrocarbons, b. 250º-345º at 15 mm. Pressure are used to produce shoe polishes. They are obtained from the solid products occurring in the catalytic production of hydrocarbons from CO and H₂by the Fischer-Tropsch process by distillation, crystallization, or solvent extraction.
