      Catalyst for conversion of CO into other products, as in the water-gas shift reaction or synthesis of CH₄, comprises Ni, a support, for example kieselguhr, and a difficulty reducible metal oxide, such as ThO₂ or MgO, in which is incorporated a small amount of a phosphate, such as NaPO₃ or K₃PO₄.
