Feb. 20, 1951; appl. filed Dec. 22, 1945, Serial No. 637,099; 3 claims (Cl. 260-449.6). Chem. Abs., vol. 45, 1951. p. 4431. Gives preparation for an Fe catalyst containing 0.1-10%, preferably 1% of the Fe oxide is moistened with an aqueous solution of KF of suitable concentration and the catalyst is dried and pilled. It may be reduced in H2 for 2-6 hr. at 600º-1,400º F. and sintered in nonoxidizing atmosphere at 1,000º-1,800º F. for several hours. Convention conditions for Fe catalyst are used in carrying out hydrocarbon synthesis with this catalyst. 3 United States patents cited. |
