C₂H₄ is obtained by catalytic hydrogenation of CO at 180°-265° under 0.05-1.0 atm.  The CO: H₂ ratio is <1:1, preferably 1:1.5.  Incompletely reduced Fe catalysts. D. 1.1-1.3, containing 50-90% inert fillers are used.
