      43.       ------.  [ARVESON, M. H.]  (Standard Oil Co. of Indiana).  Multistage Hydrocarbon Conversion System.  United States Patent 2,416,730, Mar. 4, 1947: appl. Filed Feb. 27, 1942, Serial No. 432,548; 7 claims (Cl. 196-52). Chem. Abs. Vol. 41, 1947, p. 4304.

Hydrocarbon stock, such as produced by coal hydrogenation or Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, may be converted into gasoline of low acid heat and low olefin content by a 2-stage operation.  The catalyst from the primary zone with a temperature 750°-950° F. is passed to a regeneration zone and from there to a cooling zone.  The cooled catalyst is used for increasing paraffinicity and quality of products from the primary stage in a secondary zone 500°-700° F. heat from the regenerated catalyst is transferred to the catalyst leaving the secondary zone and the catalyst is returned to the primary reaction zone.  8 United States Patents cited.
