        A₃ and A₄ transformations of Fe are shown to be both polymorphic and phase transformations.  In the magnetic A₂ transformation, neither the space group, the crystal structure, nor the space lattice orientation within the individual crystals is changed.  Hence the magnetic transformation is not polymorphic.  Further, the cooling curve for very pure Fe is interpreted as failing to establish the A₂ as a phase transformation.
