3564. ---------------. [VIGNON, L.] [Water Gas.] Ann. chim., vol. 15, 1921, pp. 42-60; Chem. Abs., vol. 15, 1921, p. 2712. It has been found that moist CO and H2 react to form small amounts of CH4, the proportions at 400°, after absorption of CO and CO2, being H2 99.8% and CH4 0.2% and at 1,300°, 98.65% and 1.35%. The catalytic effect of various mineral constituents of the ash of gas coke on the formation of CH4 is discussed. VILESOVA, G. F. See abs. 569. |
