        Theoretical discussion of the possibilities of the synthesis of MeOH from CO and H₂, from which it is concluded that the experience gained in the synthesis of NH₃ would enable the production of MeOH, independently of the manufacture of synthetic NH₃, to be readily established, that the cost would be approximately 1.18 francs per l., that the cost of MeOH equivalent to 1 l. of gasoline would be about 1.77 francs, and that it would be feasible to produce enough MeOH to replace the whole of the gasoline now being imported into France.
