        Reactions CO+3H₂→CH₄+H₂O and 2CO→CO₂+C are more powerfully catalyzed by Ni(CO)₄, at its decomposition temperature (150°) than by other Ni catalysts.  The reaction CO+CH₄→MeCHO is not catalyzed by Ni(CO)₄.
