Soc., 1873, p. 864; Chem. Zentralb., 1873, p. 452. In performing the same experiments as Brodie on the conversion of CO+H2 by the electric current, it was found that the reaction goes farther than the production of CH4 and that liquids of complex composition are obtained. Berthelot considers that they result from the condensation of CH2O, which is the 1st product of the reaction between CO and H2. THIELE, E. W. See abs. 1366. |
