Abs., vol. 43, 1949, p. 2415. Similar experiment was carried out by using 20% Mn(PO4)2 on kieselguhr as a catalyst and varying the initial pressure of H2, reaction temperature, and time to find the optimum conditions for obtaining gasoline of high octane no. Higher temperatures and less H2 or a longer reaction time at a lower temperature yielded a high-octane gasoline. By treating a fraction, boiling 200°-300°, with 2.8% H2 under 44 atm. initial pressure 3 min. at 500°, gasoline having an octane no. of 75.4 was obtained. Gasoline having a high octane no. can be obtained from oil rich in normal paraffins by proper treatment. ----------. See abs. 2017, 2018. TAKEZAKI, Y. See abs. 1894. TAKIGUSHI, K. See abs. 1910. |
