MoO2 reversibly is reduced by CO at 560°, but the reaction is masked by the catalytic decomposition of CO. At about 810°, the reaction proceeds smoothly, with no separation of C:2 MoO2+6 CO=Mo2C+5 CO2. For 810°, Kp is calculated as 1.46 for 750 mm. pressure. |
