        Characteristic properties of a mixture of synthesis gas and reaction products, which describe the course of the synthesis, are discussed, and an appropriate nomenclature is suggested.  On the basis of simple stoichiometry, a variety of relationships among these properties is derived.  A numerical method for calculation of the yield and related properties from gas analysis data is devised.  Methods for testing the accuracy of calculations of the experimental data are developed.
