        Review with over 50 refs., most of which are incorporated in this bibliography.  From experiments conducted by the author, it is found that under suitable conditions of pressure, temperature and catalysts, it is possible to synthesize a relatively high % of free HCOOH from CO and H₂ or CO₂ and H₂.  the production of sugar is a possibility.
