        Some comments are made on the recent report to Congress by the Secretary of the Interior on the Synthetic Liquid Fuels Act.  There is little question, it is stated, that the Bureau’s work constitutes one of the largest present research programs in the field of synthetic liquid fuels, and that there is little doubt that the program will yield important data, especially if extended at least in time.  Proper cooperation with industry and avoidance of unnecessary duplicative work could make this program an outstanding example of Government research in applied fields of science.
