Abs., vol. 19, 1925, p. 1,085. Specific heats of crystalline and liquid MeOH, EtOH, and BuOH were measured in an aneroid calorimeter with Cu block as a thermostat from liquid-air temperature to 25°. The accuracy was 0.5%. MeOH has a 2d crystalline form with a transition at 161.1° K. its heat of transition is 4.4 cal./gm. at 161.1° K. Its specific heat at 168.3° K., 0.40 cal./gm. Its heat of fusion at 175.3° is 23.7. |
