        Paper was presented at the World Power Conference, Tokyo, in 1929.  The sources and methods available for the production of synthetic fuels and lubricating oils are discussed.  It is pointed out that the reduction of CO by H₂ at atmospheric and high pressures with or without catalyst is a possible source of fuel.
