2154.     LYON, W. H., AND CRAWFORD, R. M.  Methane Cracking by Partial Combustion With Oxygen or Air in Germany.  U. S. Naval Tech. Mission Tech. Rept. 556-45, 1945, 15 pp.; PB 23,076.

Coke-oven gas, hydrogenation tail gas, and Fischer-Tropsch tail gas were commercially cracked by partial combustion with O2 or air to produce raw materials for various syntheses.  Feed gas consisting of N2 and H2 was produced for NH3 synthesis, and various CO-H2 mixtures were made for use in the MeOH, isobutanol, and Fischer-Tropsch synthesis.
