        Elimination of CO₂ and CO from this gas is the first step in the preparation of a N₂-H₂ mixture for synthesis of NH₃.  A method utilizing absorption by water is described and the effects of various factors indicated.  Purification to about 0.5% CO₂ can be attained at the expense of about 100-120 m.³ H₂O per 1,000 m.³ gas.
