2002. ---------------. [KUBELKA, P., AND WENZEL, W.] [Equilibrium Relations Involved in the Interaction of Water Vapor and Methane. IV.] Metallbörse, vol. 21, 1931, pp. 1421-1422; Brennstoff-Chem., vol. 12, 1931, p. 380; Chem. Abs., vol. 25, 1931, p. 5612. Above 850° from a general consideration of tables and graphs it was shown that (1) when excess water vapor is avoided the reaction is virtually according to the equation of CH4+H2O→CO+3 H2; (2) with an excess of water vapor at intermediate temperatures around 750° the CH4 is most effectively decomposed for the production of H2 virtually according to the equation CH4+2H2O=CO2+4H2. |
