Influence of K2CO3, Cu, ThO2, Al2O3 and MnO on the activity of a Co catalyst was studied by the method described above. The decomposition of CO with separation of C is not evident when ThO2 or Cu is added to the Co catalyst, while the addition of K2CO3 decreases it. ThO2 and Cu to a less degree increase the activity of Co toward the reduction of CO and the formation of hydrocarbons. Al2O3 and MnO are detrimental to the activity of Co.
