1805. ---------------. [KOBOZEV, N. I.] [Mechanism of the Retarding Effect of Promoters on the Reduction of Iron-Ammonia Catalysts.] Jour. Phys. Chem. (U.S.S.R.), vol. 8, 1936, pp. 226-233; Chem. Abs., vol. 31, 1937, p. 1559.
Data are given for the retarding effects of K2O, BeO, KF, and Al2O3 on the reduction of Fe2O3 by H2 and of MgO on that of FeO. Promoter action of the catalyst results when the added substance is surface-active and reduces the rate of reduction of the Fe oxide.
